Very nice and warm jacket!

Very nice jacket. It is so warm but, honestly, I just tried it with 10 °C and I had to turn it off quite immediately even in the motorway driving at 140 km/h! I have to wait the winter and sure I will avoid a layer under the shell. It fit small and it is perfect for me (60kg and 1,72m)... I would like all Mosko apparels to have this fit!!! (Sorry for SI units)

Perfect jacket

Very nice jacket with good quality fit and finish. You can feel the heat just seconds after turning it on! Looks stylish off the bike, so can use it everyday. I’m usually a size M but went up to a Large as recommended and it fit me nicely. Highly recommended this jacket for anyone riding in cold weather!

Great Jacket but needs some improvements

I want to love this jacket, as it's by far the most comfortable (and stylish) heated jacket I've owned. Not only does it keep you decently warm off the bike, but there is zero feel of wires or controls anywhere but below the left pocket. Why I can't love it -
1. Main reason is it's TOO hot even on the lowest setting. While the internal controller is a great idea, it needs a 4th level about 20F below the current lowest setting, like what Gerbing offers on their single channel digital controller. Or the wattage all around should just be reduced, as I honestly cannot image under what conditions one might want to use the RED setting at 126F.
2. It too long. At 5'9, 160 pounds the Medium fits me great, but looks like a mini-dress on. The current length (clearly meant for people like Pete) should be sold as a long, and a shorter version should be made available. This is not just for esthetics, it's bulky to wear riding when it comes down to your thighs!
3. Last is a nitpick - I wish it would turn on at the lowest setting (and yes an even lower one as noted above) as it would be safer and require less fussing while riding.

Great Little Jacket

First off, I apologise for my late reaction. I was touring in the French Alps last week, so I haven't gotten time to reply properly. Now that we got that out of the way, I just want to say that it actually runs a bit small. It's just a little tight around the body, and my arms are just a little bit too short to comfortably use the 'handwarmer' function by putting the thumbs through the provided hole. Then again, this is not the first jacket or sweater I got with this option that I never use. I wore the Ectotherm vest under my Rev-It armor suit and It was such a perfect combo that I kept that for the entirety of the trip. Temperatures high up on the 'cols' were such that I usually kept it on Medium Heat if needed. When outside temperatures would run 25 to 27 degrees celcius, I just unzipped the collar and a bit more of both the armor suit and jacket to be comfortable at cruising speeds. The Rev-It Parka I wore over everything during the trip from Belgium to the French Alps was stored away to never resurface again the whole trip. If I could I'd trade in the vest for a size M instead of S. But I'm OK with the small for now... I also have the woodsman pants. The sheer quality of the products has definitely put me in the market for a Baslisk Jacket and Pants. If you don't have a heated vest yet, make sure you get this one. Cheers!

Thanks for your review Henri! Yes, the Ectotherms run a bit small. Please contact our CS team, maybe we can find a solution how to exchange it for a medium sized jacket!

Ectotherm Insulated 12v Heated Jacket - 2021

Size Guide >

We added carbon fiber heating elements to a kick-ass technical puffy, and the ‘Ectotherm’ was born. When you’re sitting around the campfire or lounging in your tent, it’s a super warm insulator with 100g body-mapped synthetic PrimaLoft Gold insulation with Cross Core Technology.

Connected to the bike, it adds a 6-panel carbon-fiber 3.5Amps/42w heating system powered by the bike. That extra warmth takes the edge off long, cold, wet, pavement stretches; keeps you warm on high alpine passes; adds new enjoyment to early spring and late fall trips, and ensures you’re ready for anything a multi-year/multi-season RTW journey can dish out.

The Ectotherm is your ‘ace in the hole’ for staying sane and happy when the weather turns brutal. The name comes from Ectothermic, a scientific term for animals that exchange body heat with external sources. Like a lizard basking on a hot rock.

*Ectotherm sizing runs small. We recommend one size up from your usual preferred size

Unlike conventionally heated liners, the Ectotherm is a fully functional stand-alone synthetic insulation layer. By combining the functionality of a technical puffy and a heated liner we’ve added even more performance and versatility to a layer that we rarely leave home without. Now you can enjoy the comfort of onboard 12V heat without overburdening your pack space. Pair it with heated grips and hand shields to create the ultimate minimalist heat system for backcountry and RTW travel.

Built with 100g of PrimaLoft Gold Insulation with Cross Core Technology at the core and 60g in the underarms to reduce bulk under armor, the Ectotherm is well equipped for any cold-weather trip. This high-tech insulation combines PrimaLoft Gold, with aerogel technology, to provide up to 52% more warmth than the same weight of PrimaLoft Gold Insulation alone. This enables us to achieve both enhanced warmth and decreased weight. Integrated directly into the fibers, aerogel further enhances the performance of synthetic insulation. Now not only will it perform better than down when wet, it will also perform better when compressed under armor.

To further battle the chill of riding in the cold, we added 6 thin, flexible carbon fiber heat panels in the collar, arms, left and right chest, and back. Activate the heat with a hem-mounted controller to toggle through 3 levels of 3.5amp/42w heat to maximize comfort. The system is powered by your bike’s 12V battery (wiring harness included) for heat that lasts as long as the ride. When it comes to cold weather riding the Ectotherm Insulated 12v Heated Jacket is a powerhouse of comfort when pushing the boundaries of riding season.

*Ectotherm sizing runs small. We recommend one size up from your usual preferred size

*The model is 1.8m tall, 79kg, and wearing a size Large.
