The Deluge is our ultralight, packable, waterproof/breathable rain layer. Stuff it in your backpack for day rides, or use it as a backup waterproof layer on longer ADV trips. It works on the bike or around camp, and neatly stashes in its own pocket for storage.
The Deluge is a perfect ‘Oh Sh*t’ overpant when you’re riding in non-waterproof pants and the weather turns wet. It packs small enough to live full-time in a backpack or tailbag; it’s so small and light that you’ll forget it’s there until you need it. It has a hanging inside stuff pocket, and expandable leg openings to easily fit over your moto boots. It’s reinforced with heavy duty eVent Expedition fabric around the calf and knee, to protect against friction and heat.
What distinguishes the Deluge from the thousands of cheapo rain suits available in every sporting goods store? It’s all in the materials. The Deluge’s main body is an eVent Alpine 3-Layer fabric with direct-venting. It's rated at 20,000mm on the water column (67 feet of pressure), 20,000 g/m/d MVTR, and 0.1cfm air permeability. When you put it on, you’ll feel the difference.
*Model is 1.9m, 84kg, and wearing a size M overpant
The product is well made. The pants fit over my riding gear and the coat fits into my riding coat. I’ve been in mild rain and nothing leaked! Haven’t had it in heavy rain, but I’m confident it will perform well
Easy to pack away on the bike
Sofar i only testes the pants using my regular bike. And it keeps you dry. The price is on the high side, and as im not sure yet if the materials are capable of witstanding impact of a rock or smtg, im not sure yet if this is a good investment. But im planning to find out in the comming weeks
Full disclosure, I don't have enough riding time in wearing the Deluge pants and jacket to make a full comprehensive review, thus only 4 stars for now. However I bought these after seeing them at the IMS show in Denver. All of my boxes get checked with this gear: very high quality, great simple design, breathable and super packable and of course designed to be waterproof. Packable being very important to me since I'm more likely to always have the gear in my hydration pack ready for the weather. Bulky gear would be more likely to get left in my gear bag so what's the point of investing in that.
They only negative is the initial cost, but if it keeps me dry as well as this gear is made it's well worth it. I'll update my review if possible after some real world rain and seat time. Until then very high score initially on quality and design of the Deluge jacket and pant. Dan B.
