This is special edition COVID-19 colorway – which we’re calling the “FUBasilisk” (pronounced ‘foo-basilisk,’ like FUBAR, the F*cked Up Basilisk). Didn't catch that story? Check it out.
The Basilisk is incredibly waterproof and incredibly breathable. The body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. It's waterproof to 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), with an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and DWR. It's the only waterproof moto jacket on the market that also has air permeability, plus it has the highest waterproof ratings of any moto jacket we've ever seen.
In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we added SuperFabric ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable base, sewn as an overlay on the main body eVent for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime, and they're easy to operate one-handed with gloves.
The Basilisk jacket is our full-throated endorsement of separate body armor for extended enduro-touring trips, where integrated armor is a pain. If you've never used separate body armor, here are the reasons we love it:
The jacket that accomplishes its mission with the least features, is best. That's the Basilisk. It's light, nimble, and breathable, with the basic pockets and vents you need and nothing else. We eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. There are two external and two internal pockets, with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow.
Ethically produced in Bangladesh

Just like the orange on my KTM, the orange on the zippers adds 10hp
Disclaimer - I have only taken one short ride with this jacket and since I may not be doing much more riding this fall figured I would at least get an initial impression logged. Like everything else from Mosko this jacket is super high quality from the zippers to the rain gutters to the wrist closures etc. It looks like it will stand up to the many off-road tip overs and oh-craps I will subject it to. I wear a 39" suit jacket and bought the medium size. As described it fits over my armor and I still have room for a fleece or lightweight down. My armour isn't really bulky. Prior to getting the jacket I had tried on the Forcefield EX-K armour and returned it as it was a little too bulky for me. That might have made the fit a little tighter than normal so I would say if you are on the upper range of the fit and have bulky armour you might want to upsize. Oh, I also chose the FUBasilisk which has the "wrong" color zippers (read the blog) and it looks just fine. Not a fashion show and saving a couple hundred is ok by me. Thanks again Mosko!
After a week of solid riding in smoke filled Southern Oregon and NorCal I can say this is a great jacket. We rode a 107 degree day and we rode foggy, 54 degree days and the jacket worked. Had a couple minor get offs in the dirt and all that happened is I got my new jacket dirty. Hosed it off and it's as good as new, well.... better than new. Now you need to F*uck Up some pants so I can get those too. Thanks guys, great jacket.
Opening the box the jacket came packaged very nicely. Colors, the FUBasilisk looks great the navy blue and a pop of orange should be a standard in my opinion. Initial quality, the jacket is well built, Bar tac stitching in areas where needed, seam taped, etc but time will tell on longevity, the eVent fabric used in the basilisk is different than the deluge I own both. The basilisk eVent is thicker but offers a soft feel, with branches/trail debris whipping at it I wonder how well it will hold up. I have had previous experience with super fabric so I am expecting the same performance. One initial criticism is that the collar does not include a stay to hold it open, part of venting is opening up the collar. It does have a very soft liner in the collar but on days where you don’t want to zip the coat fully or are running all your vents open it would be nice to have a snap/bungee loop/or Velcro to keep the collar from jabbing your chin all day.
I now own quite a lot of Mosko Moto kit. Their products so well engineered and the quality is first rate. The FUBasilisc jacket is no exception. I wear mine over armor and the fit, flexibility, and air flow are excellent especially for a waterproof jacket. This jacket is a solid 5 stars. Now for style you will truly stand apart in this color scheme. A very bold choice.
