We spent two+ years developing the Hood, testing every type of waterproof closure we could find. We needed something simple and strong enough for a tank bag, that will continue working even after thousands of uses in dusty, abusive conditions. We even spent 6 months experimenting with kayak hatches. The hatches turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole, but they gave us the idea for the Hood.
The Hood achieves it's waterproofing through a welded-seam, waterproof clamshell lid (we call it a 'hood') that rests on an equally waterproof, welded-seam base. The hood pushes against a strip of piping that runs 360 degrees around the base. There's a rain gutter just below the piping that stops any water that tries to work its way up the sides. We even tested it with a pressure washer at the car wash, and everything inside stayed bone-dry!
The inside of the Hood features a large, open main compartment, with two removable sewn-seam wallets for things like cables, headphones, batteries, and credit cards. There's a charging cable and headphone pass-through port, so you can connect your phone and electronic accessories directly to the battery.
On the top of the Hood you'll find plenty of MOLLE webbing, which fits the included MOLLE compatible waterproof map pocket. If you don't need the map pocket, the MOLLE webbing also works great for a cell phone case, multi tool, or first aid kit instead.

Product Creation at Mosko is an effort born of necessity. Everyone on our team rides – and time on the trail translates to an innovative, always improving product line. Crafting gear that will outperform in even the most harsh riding conditions means we make no compromise, ever.
Another example of Mosko Moto’s stellar design chops! So simple to open and close, fits beautifully, and refueling access takes about 5 seconds to accomplish.
I originally tried the Nomad, but my ‘95 Tiger fuel tank profile imposed itself into the bottom of the bag and reduced useable capacity. In addition, I no longer wanted to deal with a separate rain cover, so the Hood design looked like a great solution.
One issue I had was mounting the rear harness straps, as the Tiger has no vertical locations upon which to mount the provided ladder/zip tie clip strap.
My sweet wife sewed me two loops from some scrap nylon straps I had kicking about in my “parts department “, incorporating the plastic buckles I cut from the ladder straps. These looped beautifully around the engine crash bars, and gave me a super clean installation.
Overall, a great addition to my other Mosko gear. Count me as a very satisfied customer!
Fabulous product , "very waterproof" , very stylish , prompt delivery to Sydney Australia . Highly recommended A+
I was looking for something very specific... A small tank bag that would neatly hold my drone, gopro and other camera gear and give me rapid access to them when I'm touring on my bike. I worked with the Mosko Moto team and the confirmed that the Hood Tank bag should fit everything nicely and it did.
After receiving the bag, I did a 10 day, 3,000 mile trip where it got a good workout. I rode through heavy rain and everything was well protected, but accessible in about 2 seconds. I'm a huge Mosko Moto fan and highly recommend their gear.
