We spent two+ years developing the Hood, testing every type of waterproof closure we could find. We needed something simple and strong enough for a tank bag, that will continue working even after thousands of uses in dusty, abusive conditions. We even spent 6 months experimenting with kayak hatches. The hatches turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole, but they gave us the idea for the Hood.
The Hood achieves it's waterproofing through a welded-seam, waterproof clamshell lid (we call it a 'hood') that rests on an equally waterproof, welded-seam base. The hood pushes against a strip of piping that runs 360 degrees around the base. There's a rain gutter just below the piping that stops any water that tries to work its way up the sides. We even tested it with a pressure washer at the car wash, and everything inside stayed bone-dry!
The inside of the Hood features a large, open main compartment, with two removable sewn-seam wallets for things like cables, headphones, batteries, and credit cards. There's a charging cable and headphone pass-through port, so you can connect your phone and electronic accessories directly to the battery.
On the top of the Hood you'll find plenty of MOLLE webbing, which fits the included MOLLE compatible waterproof map pocket. If you don't need the map pocket, the MOLLE webbing also works great for a cell phone case, multi tool, or first aid kit instead.

I recently ordered a Hood tank bag, to ensure that all paperwork inside it stays dry even during down-poor. the quality is great and highly recommend it.
I always get amazed how every single little detail ends up coming in handy. Never had any issues.
I have ordered multiple tank bags and a duffel bags.
Really pleased with my mosko gear.
At 5 Liters it's the right volume for small dirt bike sized gas tanks. Waterproof without having to don a shower cap, it's built for sudden and unexpected puddle and stream crossings. With it's stiff hood (helmet?) design this tank bag is easily and quickly opened and closed with one hand, unlike other zipper-snag prone bags. It's heavy duty build guarantees it will be used and abused for years of curse free service. The Hood 5 is a game changer and has lowered my blood pressure by half when trying to fish my sun glasses and hat out at each gas stop.
Very well made functional products. Unfortunately Hood Bag would not work / open completely on Husky 701 because of interference with aftermarket installed GPR Stabilizer & Garmin GPS. The rear metal buckles that are used to strap bag to bike were located in such a way that they would have rubbed the inside of my knee / thigh causing discomfort over time. Keep in mind Husky 701 does NOT have a fuel tank in the front it’s located under the rear fender / seat. On a normal set up with fuel tank in front buckles most likely would not be an issue.
