We set out to design a system that weighs less than the Backcountry 35 - which is built for extreme offroad durability and long distance trips - but preserves the functionality of certain core features, such as a positive attachment to the bike, two layers of crash protection, and an extremely easy on/off mounting system.
There are so many 'over-the-seat' saddlebag systems already on the market, and we didn’t want to design another one of those, so we struck out in a totally different direction. The new Scout 25 firmly attaches to the bike, with a laser-cut aluminum plate that bolts to virtually any pannier rack. A large beavertail harness - made from extremely abrasion-resistant materials like hypalon, ballistic nylon, and polyurethane - connects to the plate, and cinches tight to the bike, holding a removable waterproof drybag in place.
When you reach your destination for the night, simply un-clip the top of the harness and pull out the drybag. A totally new type of quick release. It’s so easy!
The beavertail makes for a handy quick-stash spot for wet & dirty items, and it also protects the drybag in a fall. You get all the benefits of two-layer crash protection, plus the ability to replace damaged parts as components without replacing an entire bag. We eliminated all unnecessary material to keep the Scout’s weight as low as possible. It weighs a tiny bit more than traditional over-the-seat systems (usually a pound or two) due to the aluminum backing and PE armor, but it’s also a whole lot more durable, and so much easier to use.
The Scout’s 100% waterproof welded-seam drybags feature crushable backpack straps, so they can serve double-duty as airline carry-on or emergency hike-out bags. The backpack straps are also handy for getting everything up to your room in a single trip. Each drybag has a tough armor backing, which not only helps it retain its shape, but also protects drybag from abrading on the bike and mounting hardware. The drybags also have a water-resistant front zippered pocket.
For carrying tools and fluids, expanding capacity, or adding a quick-stash spot for snacks and tubes, we offer an optional MOLLE attachment kit that gets sandwiched between the removable drybag and the mounting frame. This is a great place to store your water and extra fuel, or stash a MOLLE compatible multi-tool, a fixed blade knife, a hatchet, or a spade.
With the drybags removed, the empty harness can be cinched tight to the bike, so it won’t flap around in the wind. If you’re out & about and find yourself in need of a handy spot to tuck a small bag, jacket, or groceries, they work perfect for that as well.

Cutout Pannier Rack Note: Bikes with stock racks and a pannier exhaust cutout (like the R1200GSA or F800GSA for example) require an additional adapter. Check the 'Hardware & Parts' section of our site, or email us with questions.
This kit includes 2 side pannier bags, and all the hardware you need to install on your bike.

“100% pleased with the Scout paniers! These fit my 690 Enduro great. They compress nice and tight, adapting to various load volumes just way I hoped they would. Quality is top shelf.”
Love my scouts! most versatile bag system available. Great product with great back end support. Even if things didn't quite go as planed i would happily recommend this company and product range. These bags will be used on the next bike!
I recently bought a KLR that had awful soft plastic panniers on it.After much research I thought I would take a chance on the Scout 25l and am absolutely thrilled that I did. The product is amazing and I love everything about it. The quality is top notch and with careful packing it is great for multi day trips. The flexibility is amazing and I just love the ability to use the harness by itself. Totally sold on the Mosko range and have bought more of their products since this one. Just awesome.
Since I am a little OCD, I worried about the aluminum mounting plate possibly causing injury to me in a crash, so I attached car door trim around the whole plate. Love how it looks and now feel a little safer.
Just completed a 5-state, almost 4,000 mile road trip around the Western US and all our Mosko gear worked perfectly. I had the Scout 25L panniers on my KTM 690 Enduro for the first 3 days of the trip... until the bike died. Then transferred the Scouts to my new KTM 790 Adventure. The paniers (along with Nomad tank bag, 25L duffle, and 10L dry bag) held all my stuff through blistering heat, bursts of rain, and lots of dust. I rinsed everything with water after returning home and it all looks brand new! My boyfriend and adventure partner opted for the 35L Backcountry paniers which he loved but I found just too heavy so I was very happy with the Scout design. I carried two 1-gallon Rotopax (water and gas) by securing them to the aluminum plates, as mentioned in one of the Scout videos which worked fine. I preferred having that liquid weight lower on the bikes but I had to reduce the contents of the Scout bags as a result. No big deal but now that I have the 790 Adv with the massive gas tank, I can forget the red Rotopax and take full advantage of the 25L. Thank you team Mosko!
Took these on a trip down the MABDR recently and they were great. Easy to put on the bike and stood up to hours of torrential rain. I even dropped the bike on them once and they were fine. I really like how the pannier folds up when the dry bags aren't in there for a streamlined look. The 25L set was enough for me to carry everything I needed for a couple days of camping with extra tubes and some tools. For a much longer trip I think I'd go for the 35L version.
Great product. well thought out, sturdy construction. should last many miles. easy installation. the only hitch with installation was two of the bolts on the exhaust side had to be trimmed otherwise they would bottom out on the muffler. minor if you have a hacksaw and file handy.
great customer service. thanks sara and roel for working hard to get my order out on super short notice!
was a little surprised to see that the bag on the exhaust side touched down during cornering a few times. lucky it only sustained minor scuffing to the cradle material, not the dry bag. I know I like to ride my gs as if there is an xr in the title, so maybe this wont happen to everyone. lol. maybe a 1/4" deep Teflon rub strip on the bottom of the cradle might be in order?
overall very happy with the product. saved my bike on 2 standing tip overs in the dirt. stock hard cases would have been crushed, and these just formed a nice little pillow for my bike to lay on. overall, on my 2 week euro tour, they performed exactly as I hoped they would! thanks, merl mann
