This page shows pannier rack systems that are compatible with the Backcountry 35L Pannier Wedge-Mount system, and the Scout 25L Pannier system, including any known fit issues. If you send us a pic of your rack we can provide an opinion of whether it will work. If you check out the video below, you can see how the mounting system works and you may be able to figure out whether it will work on your specific rack or not.
A PDF of the Wedge-Mount dimensions can be downloaded by clicking HERE. Use this if you are making a custom rack or want to test the dimensions against an existing rack you are not sure about. It can be printed out at 1:1 scale and held up against your rack.

*Remove locking loop on latch located on pannier frame for newer Africa Twin & newer BMW 1200GS models.
Givi Racks - All
We recently became aware of a fit issue with Givi racks on the BMW R1200GS WC. They will still work on the 1200, but may require some modifications. In general, most Givi racks can be retrofitted to work, but we do not typically recommend these racks for new pannier installations.
Givi Racks - Outback Trekker
Remove the metal tongue at the top, the two attachment points at the bottom, and anything else protruding from the rack. Most models should be compatible after this.
SW Motech EVO
Our pucks & wedges fit on SW Motech EVO racks. If you have a newer BMW R1200GSA LC with SW Motech racks, or anther bike with puck clearance issues, check out this install guide put together by Chuck Henley. Alternately, you can also drill a hole through the center of the rack and bolt the wedge directly to the rack with a nylock nut and a large washer on the back, in any spot where the mounting pucks will not fit.
Tusk
Tusk racks are generally compatible after removing the spring-loaded pin at the top. Simply pull off the circlip with pliers. It's non-destructive, and the pins can be reinstalled in the future.
Racks with known fit issues are listed below. Some of these can be made to work if you're handy and have access to tools:
Outback Motortek X-Frame (old version) Mosko panniers can be mounted using three of the four pucks, but we do not recommend this option. Please note, the new Rotopax X-bracket (2020+) is compatible with the Backcountry quick release plate. Here is an installation video.
SW Motech's new PRO racks aren't compatible with Mosko panniers without drilling three additional holes in each side of the rack. Please see this PowerPoint for a summary of the procedure
Happy Trail SU Rack
The addition of this lower inner plate is not compatible with Mosko pucks. It can be made to work, but purchase a model without this plate if possible.
Rally Raid
Although many customers have mounted our wedge system on RR racks, these racks were not designed to support the weight of a full-size pannier, and we have observed a number of issues. For RR racks we recommend the Reckless 80 system.
