Mosko Moto is a growing designer and importer of luggage and apparel for offroad and adventure motorcycling. We’re located in White Salmon, Washington, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, 10 minutes from Hood River, Oregon, and an hour east of Portland. We’re surrounded by nature, with epic motorcycling, biking, hiking, kayaking, snow sports, and wind sports nearby.
We’re an ambitious little company with long-term dreams. We’re looking for a Director of Accounting & Finance to join our tight-knit team. This position reports to the CEO. It has final responsibility for all accounting, finance, and control functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Developing a financial plan that aligns with our strategic vision.
• Establishing and monitoring financial controls.
• Financial reporting.
• Ensuring statement accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Creating and maintaining an annual operating budget.
• Creating and maintaining a long-term financial forecast.
• Creating and monitoring a short and long-term cash forecast.
• Tracking actual performance vs plan, and reporting to management.
• Leading our accounting team, including a full time remote accountant/CPA and several outside contractors.
• Managing and supporting tax preparation activities.
• Ensuring adequate liquidity, and sourcing additional credit options as needed.
• Managing bank and investor relations.
• Inventory forecasting.
• Managing our IT system (NetSuite).
• Managing vendor payables and payments (mostly factory wires).
The successful candidate will be as comfortable with operations and general business as they are with Excel, NetSuite, and GAAP. We’re looking for someone who – when they’re not busy with financial stuff – can roll up their sleeves and help solve complex operational, profitability, and supply challenges too. Don’t be surprised if you get pulled into brainstorming sessions on product development, marketing, and customer service with the rest of the leadership team. We all wear a lot of hats.
Requirements
• 7+ years in a senior accounting/finance role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Consumer products and international manufacturing experience.
• Netsuite experience.
• Extreme attention to detail.
It’s a plus if you:
• Live in the Gorge (or want to).
• Ride motorcycles (or want to).
• Love nature, camping, and outdoor sports like moto, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, paragliding, backpacking, or windsurfing/kitesurfing.
• Are a CPA, an MBA, or hold another advanced business/accounting degree or certification.
These days, we get a lot of ‘asks’ about remote work. Our preference is (always) to find someone who can spend meaningful amounts of time in the office, especially to start. Mosko HQ is a chill, comfortable space with dogs, music, and a kitchen. Just outside the front door are restaurants, a brewery, and a coffee shop. We love White Salmon.
If you live in Portland, we can probably work with that. We’re flexible. Many of us travel extensively, and part of our team is located in Europe, so we’re used to lots of video calls and resolving things on Slack. That said, although some things can be done from anywhere, this is a senior position that interfaces with the entire team, so building personal rapport, immersing in our culture, and having consistent face time is important.
