The Basilisk IR Jacket is our waterproof enduro-touring kit for trips through primarily off-road terrain. It features removable armor and performance-focused materials, creating a highly breathable, super comfortable ADV jacket.
The Basilisk IR Jacket is our waterproof / breathable enduro-touring kit for trips through primarily off-road terrain. This jacket provides a balance of breathability, mobility, and protection, with a CE A rating for abrasion, and CE level 2 rating for impact protection.
The Basilisk IR Jacket combines high-performance materials with clean lines and minimalist design. The articulated fit allows freedom of motion and easy layering, and packs smaller than a traditional ADV jacket for stashing on your bike when things get hot.
Pair with the Basilisk IR Pant to complete the kit.
The Basilisk IR Jacket is designed to perform during athletic, technical riding through primarily off-road terrain in a wide range of weather conditions. It handles long transfer sections with ease and is now CE A-rated for abrasion / slide protection.
We took the Basilisk Jacket's proven shell performance and fit developed over the last seven years and added integrated / removable (IR) RHEON™ LABS body armor. This makes the Basilisk IR a waterproof, super-breathable, and now more versatile and protected ADV jacket.
At its core, RHEON™ is an energy-absorbing superpolymer. Soft and flexible in its natural state, it intelligently stiffens when subjected to force. Made to feel invisible, its designed to flex to the curvature of the body for an adaptive fit. One of the unique elements of RHEON™ is its patented algorithmic design and 3D printing process. The combination makes it both lighter, and more protective. The unique cell packing allows for better impact absorption while allowing air to flow naturally around the rider, making RHEON™ armor the most breathable protection on the market to date.
The included CE Level-2 armor pads are easily removable, allowing the jacket to convert into a lighter-weight and more packable shell for use with separate body armor. (Compared to the previous generation of non-armored Basilisk Jacket, the new integrated armored version fits the same with the pads removed, ready for use with your own separate armor.)
The jackets rip-stop body fabric is a highly abrasion-resistant eVent® Expedition 3-layer, using eVent's proprietary Direct Venting™ technology. Heat and water vapor move directly through the air-permeable membrane, allowing your body to breathe freely and stay comfortable. With a 30,000mm on the water column (100 feet of water pressure), an MVTR of 10,000 g/m/d, .06cfm air permeability, and a DWR coating to keep you dry in wet conditions.
We have storm flaps on all external zippers to increase the Basilisk's ability to shed water. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders, back, and elbows, we feature Super Fabric® ceramic platelets on a 600D waterproof/breathable overlay for added strength. With double-layer fabric, you can crash repeatedly and still stay dry. Our zippers are top-of-the-line water-repellent YKK Vislon Aquaguard: they won't clog with dust and grime and are easy to operate one-handed with gloves.
There are two external hand pockets and two chest pockets, (one external, one internal), with six substantial vents placed strategically for maximum airflow. On the inside, we eliminated hanging liners entirely, reducing weight, bulk, and heat. In high abrasion areas like the shoulders and elbows, laminated patches protect the tricot lining.
This super comfortable jacket provides a balance of waterproofness, breathability, mobility, and protection, with a CE-A rating for abrasion, and CE-Level 2 rating for impact protection.
The Basilisk IR Jacket fits true to size.
(The fit of this new armored Basilisk IR Jacket is the same as the previous edition of the Basilisk Jacket shell. Remove the included armor pads for rides with your own separate armor.)

RHEON™ is an energy-absorbing super polymer. Soft and flexible in its natural state, it intelligently stiffens when subjected to force. Designed to flex to the curvature of the body for an adaptive fit like no other. Giving impact protection exactly where it's needed, while maintaining total comfort.
DV Expedition, eVent's burliest waterproof membrane, provides the ultimate in durability and all-weather protection. Delivering dry comfort in the widest range of conditions and providing the greatest waterproof protection without sacrificing air permeability. At its best when the conditions are at their worst.
The Basilisk jacket features flow-through vents to maximize cooling while taking on the most strenuous offroad riding in all weather conditions year round. Chest and side vents allow airflow through the torso and under arm. Arm vents add additional venting to keep you cool on every ride.
SuperFabric® is created by taking a 600d polyester base fabric and infusing tiny hard guard plates into the fabric. These guard plates have small gaps between each plate, keeping the SuperFabric® flexible for maximum comfort and protection.

Best Bike Suite Quality ever had.
The long search for the perfect adventure suit ended with the Basilisk. Both the pants and jacket are amazing. I live in Holland and during these months the weather is really wet. So a lot of deep puddles and rain are expected during the full trip. I experienced no problems with this suit.
The jacket and/or pant offer more than enough pockets and smart solutions for everything you will need as a rider. Also the sleeves get over nicely my winter gloves. So my hands really stay dry because of this jacket! The pant keeps my boots dry, but after a long day riding and a lot of puddles and light rain the tech-7 drystar still tend up to get a little wet inside. No cold feet, just a little wet. Maybe it’s my driving, maybe a second inner layer could solve the problem or maybe it’s the boot? I can’t say…
After a 2-days ride the suit was really dirty and needed some cleaning. Even with the high pressure sprayer (on medium hardness) and open vents in the back of the jacket no water came in. A week before I tried the high pressure with maximum hardness and some water came into the zippers of the pants, so be gentle. If you want to solve this amount of water (which is really not necessary during a ride); put some wax on the zippers and they will be (better) water tight.
Even during these winter months with 2-6 degrees I can get hot in this jacket when driving some longer hard enduro. I use a fleece jacket as mid-layer to stay warm, which is necessary during the beginning of the ride and I love that I don’t need to ‘un-layer’; the numerous vents give more than enough ventilation for the winter period. I love the ‘clickers’ which allow the jacket to be more open at the top of the zipper and allow maximum ventilation.
I expect I will not use this jacket or pant when the temperature will rise above the - let’s say - 17 degrees. Maybe only the pant when it’s wet and a jersey on top. For warmer periods I love the Kiger pant. Time will tell..
It’s a lot of money you’ll pay, but you will get the quality. And the materials really look and feel like they will last long.
I guess that’s it.. Thanks again for this amazing product Mosko!
Basilisk IR Jacket
Just used this on a week long trip in 30-75 degree temps. The first thing I noticed is the weight. This jacket is considerably lighter than my old one from a high end competitor in Idaho. The adjustment flaps are much better than just a waist strap because it keeps the entire mid section snug. Although I didn’t get any hot weather, I could tell the ventilation was working. I didn’t get into any rain to that but as well as the jacket performed otherwise, I have no doubt it will do just fine. Mosko has definitely refined the Adv jacket with this one.
Coming from years of using BMW Rallye gear the Basilisk jacket is a nice change. The simplicity in design, light weight, and waterproof integration is nice. I agree with other comments on the poor placement of elbow fasteners. It definitely interferes with smooth movements to reach the helmet comms or other face shield adjustments. The shoulders are tighter than I expected and are much more snug than other jackets/clothing that I wear in the same size. Being able to try this on before purchase may have swayed me into getting a large instead of medium.
On a heavy rain ride in Northern CA I did experience water leakage in the bicep area. Improvements to the zipper design may help. I also had water come through the Basilisk pants around the upper quad and crotch.
I may go back to my BMW gear in wet and cold conditions to stay drier and have more room for warm weather layers.
