DESIGN

The Gnome stores your trail bars, wallet, phone, tools, and water, all while having a small footprint on your motorcycle. Keep your more valuable documents in the interior stealth passport pocket while utilizing the exterior quick-stash earplug / knife / everyday-carry pocket, and fleece-lined sunglass pocket for easy access. The included stashable rain cover features a welded-seam top panel and sealed seams on the side to keep all your belongings dry even in a heavy downpour.

The MOLLE attachment panel on the top of the bag allows the fastening of additional accessories. Clip on your Garmin inReach, Spot, or our Navigator Cell Phone Pocket to dampen the phone killing vibrations while having direct sight of the navigation for the route ahead. The internal fleece-lined pockets and elastic loops will securely hold your phone and other necessities while on the move.

The main body material is a durable 630D high-density 100% recycled nylon with a water-repellent finish. This recycled material is fully traceable and Control Union Certified in the Netherlands to Global Recycling Standards.

A Fistful of Features, But Not Quite Gold

“When you have to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.” Well, Mosko Moto’s Tank Bag shoots for the stars, and while it doesn’t always hit the mark, it’s a solid companion for your ride. Here’s the lowdown, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly style.

TL;DR

The Good: A rugged, functional tank bag that delivers on its core promises.
The Bad: A bit cramped, with some design quirks.
The Ugly: That price tag stings like a desert sunburn.

The Good: “There’s Money to Be Made in a Place Like This”

This tank bag is a trusty sidekick for any rider. It’s a compact beast, packing a 1.5L hydration pack and just enough room for essentials—think trail bars, wallet, phone, and a small multitool. The materials scream durability, with sturdy buckles that hold tight under tension, promising to outlast many a dusty trail. The hydration hose is a standout: long enough to sip while seated or standing, with a nifty tap to control water flow. “You see, in this world, there’s two kinds of people, my friend: those with loaded guns and those who dig.” This bag’s loaded with practical features.

The rain cover works like a charm—I rode through a two-hour downpour, and my gear stayed bone-dry. The bag’s versatility surprised me; it converts into a pouch or shoulder bag, which I didn’t expect to use but found handy when life threw curveballs. The kit includes everything for a quick install, and fitting it to my bike was a breeze, even for a mechanically average Joe like me. Multiple pockets and compartments add thoughtful touches, though not all are must-haves.

The Bad: “Every Gun Makes Its Own Tune”

Here’s where the harmony falters. The bag’s small size is a double-edged sword. Mosko’s website claims it holds “trail bars, wallet, phone, tools, and water” with a small footprint. But how many bars? What size wallet? Tools? Forget it—my small multitool barely squeezed in alongside personal gear. The “fleece-lined sunglass pocket” is a pipe dream for anyone with large, curved shades. Fitting a full hydration pack while the bag’s mounted on the tank is like wrestling a cactus—possible, but painful. It’s easier to fill off-bike, but that’s a hassle.

The rain cover pocket is comically tight, making it a chore to stow. Worse, the cover blocks the drinking hose, rendering half the bag’s functionality useless in wet weather. The cover’s transparent window, meant to let you see inside, fogs up with condensation, making it about as useful as a mirage. Too many pockets (a passport pocket, really?) feel redundant, and cramming anything into a full bag risks crushing your gear.

The Ugly: “You May Run the Risks, My Friend, But I Do the Cutting”

The price. For what you pay, you’d expect a near-perfect product, but this bag feels like it’s still a few tweaks shy of greatness. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it leaves you squinting like Clint Eastwood at a bad deal.

Notes to Mosko Moto

R&D: Bump up the bag’s size just a smidge for easier access and more gear. Make it waterproof or redesign the rain cover to allow hose access. Ditch the stiff transparent window for a flexible cover that’s easier to stow.
Marketing: Suggest bike-specific mounting points (e.g., Tenere 700, Africa Twin) and add visuals of the hose in action on your website.

Non-Product Perks

The website’s a joy and shipping was lightning-fast. But I’d love more details, like hose usage illustrations, to seal the deal.

Bottom Line

This bag earns 5 stars for being a solid performer, but I’m docking one for design quirks that a little TLC could fix and another for the wallet-punching price. Final score: 3 stars. It’s not the treasure at the end of the trail, but it’ll get you through the ride with a grin.
