We spent two+ years developing the Hood, testing every type of waterproof closure we could find. We needed something simple and strong enough for a tank bag, that will continue working even after thousands of uses in dusty, abusive conditions. We even spent 6 months experimenting with kayak hatches. The hatches turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole, but they gave us the idea for the Hood.
The Hood achieves it's waterproofing through a welded-seam, waterproof clamshell lid (we call it a 'hood') that rests on an equally waterproof, welded-seam base. The hood pushes against a strip of piping that runs 360 degrees around the base. There's a rain gutter just below the piping that stops any water that tries to work its way up the sides. We even tested it with a pressure washer at the car wash, and everything inside stayed bone-dry!
The inside of the Hood features a large, open main compartment, with two removable sewn-seam wallets for things like cables, headphones, batteries, and credit cards. There's a charging cable and headphone pass-through port, so you can connect your phone and electronic accessories directly to the battery.
On the top of the Hood you'll find plenty of MOLLE webbing, which fits the included MOLLE compatible waterproof map pocket. If you don't need the map pocket, the MOLLE webbing also works great for a cell phone case, multi tool, or first aid kit instead.
The first person to take a selfie of the Hood on their bike in front of Mt. Hood while wearing a Hoodie gets a free Mosko tee!

Best tank bag ever
The quality exceeds the price, best functional tank bag in my opinion.
Don’t think about it, buy this bag, no regrets.
Fit perfect on my KTM SAS 1290
I love my hood tank bag, it looks fantastic on my 2018 Africa twin to go along with my backcountry panniers! Speaking of those panniers, one did have a small tear on a exterior pocket that I emailed them about, and the lady was on a motorcycle trip and no one ever got back to me about. But even with that, I was so happy with the quality of the overall panniers that I pulled the trigger on the hood tank bag. I was looking for more of a pocket dump than all of the individual compartments that the nomad offered, and I love the quick access of the hood. No zippers! (like another brand of adventure tank bags 😉) so if you’re looking for a quick, very well built, pocket dump with the opportunity to have clean organization. The hood tank bag is the one to buy!
I love the lack of waterproof zippers. Simple design and compact enough for smaller tanks. Organizational features are great
