Bag Care Pointers:
After reading one review on here that the tap function simply didn't
work, I was dubious to purchase this. I can confirm however that it works perfectly and is a great way to store and access water in the Aux Pox in your Reckless 80.
Best products out there! 🤘
Fitting the DromLite bag pour HDPE cap was impossible and didn't work. I had to modify the Molle bag opening to allow the cap to fit and be useable as I was leaving for a trip and didn't have time to return it for a different option. In the end I made it work but the Molle bag opening needs to be better designed to fit the DromLite bag as it states "Fit perfectly in our large Molle Pouch" and that isn't the case in my situation.
The two MSR DromLite Bags I purchased perfectly on my recent Idaho BDR ride. Just got home last night. They fill easily, all air can be bled out to minimize size of bag when full of water, and they morph to fit the space available. Also with 2 bags I was able to keep my bike balances by putting one each pannier. Great value!
I have lots of Mosko Moto luggage etc etc.
All better than expected and worth the money.
I just bought the MSR DromLite 2 liter hydration bag.
The “only” reason I bought this was for the little pocket on the back of the Reckless 80.
I called and was told it works great in these little side pockets , so obviously you agree … because why else would you have added a hole in the bottom side of the rear bag? Yep for the MSR hydration bag.
My experience … not so good.
I spent at least 30 minutes the first time I tried just loading it.
It’s all about experimenting with the water volume.
I learned you can only fill the bag with little more than 1/2 to get it to go into the pocket.
Then you have spend a minimum of 10 minutes of moving the bag around and trying to align the spigot to the hole in the bag. But thats the real problem. The on off valve spout is too short and it doesn’t fit through the hole in the pocket. You need to use one hand to move around the hole covering and the other to search for the valve and try to open it.
Another issue … when you tighten up the big cap that has the tiny spigot on it … it doesn’t align the spigot to the “down” direction … it ends up sideways. So when you open the spigot it flows out sideways against the luggage bag. What were you guys thinking?
In the dark you would need 3 hands or a headlamp to operate this.
So really it’s maybe a 1 1/4 liter bag with a less than adequate useable valve.
Not much value.
My suggestion would be to find some other vendor that will design a valve / hose combo to come through the hole.
I think the issue was … you had a good idea but the vendor MSR already had a less than adequate bag with a short spout and you guys thought it would work.
Nope too much fiddling around and not worth the hassle.
I can fit 2 water bottles in there and be done with it.
My hydration bag in the NOMAX is how it should be done.
Thank you ,
